I am looking for some help with my school list. To start, I know that my application is not extremely strong BUT I AM APPLYING THIS CYCLE (i.e. please don't say wait or retake MCAT). I am really looking to maximize my chances wherever I can get in. As stated, I have a 3.5 cGPA and 3.2 sGPA. I took the MCAT twice and got a 493 --> 496. CA resident ORM. I graduated from an average state school. I have over 3500 clinical experience hours as a scribe, rehab assistant, medical assistant, and direct support professional. Clinical volunteering (150 hours). I have 500 hours as a research assistant and I wrote an undergraduate thesis about this research accumulating about 500 more hours. I do not have a publication. I shadowed an orthopedic surgeon (190 hours) and I am currently shadowing a plastic surgeon (40 hours). Current non-clinical volunteering as a tutor for unhoused children (135 hours). I am also a fitness instructor (295 hours). I graduated with departmental honors. I am currently in my gap year and work as a medical assistant full time while instructing on the side. My current school list is very long and huge mix of reach schools. Anything input helps!

MD schools are completely unrealistic with a MCAT of 496. You could receive interviews at some DO schools, mainly the newer ones.
I suggest these DO schools with your stats:
OCOM
PCOM South Georgia
VCOM (all 4 schools)
WCU-COM
NYIT-AR
ARCOM
LMU-DCOM (all schools)
BUCOM
WVSOM
UP-KYCOM
MERITUS-COM
DUQCOM
KHSC-COM
NOORDA-COM
ICOM
TOURO-MONTANA
RVU-MONTANA
UIWSOM
BCOM (both schools)
ATSU-SOMA
LECOM (all schools)
There may also be new schools opening later this year: D'Youville, Northern Colorado, Illinois

Your description seems to miss service-orientation activities like food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation. Do you have this?
My thesis and research position were focused on prevention science. We worked out of syringe exchange sites partned with HIV Alliance. I worked very closely with unhoused individuals with and without substance use disorders providing them with resources to improve their living situation as much as possible. In addition, I volunteered at a free mobile clinic during college. We provided medical care as well as many basic necessities (warm clothing, hygiene items, vitamins, etc.). Are these activites what you were referring to in your question?
