  5. I have 3000 hours of experience as an MA with direct patient interaction
  6. I have 160 hours of research experience all from college
  7. 180 non paid shadowing clinical hours. 150 at an Urgent care shadowing a DO, and 30 hours shadowing an anesthesiologist in the hospital
  8. 180 hours of volunteering. 140 hours at a local homeless shelter and 40 at a community recycling center
  9. Only 1 club during undergrad
  10. Deans list for 3 out of my 4 years of undergrad
Some additional information: I've lived abroad for the majority of my life.
I know my MCAT is horrible, i was anxiously avoiding taking it and studying for it. Realistically hoping I can achieve a (505-510) on my next attempt in 2026.

Schools im considering for now (Only DO):
LECOM
LMU DCOM
Arkansaw State
PCOM
WESTCOM
Touro COM
Burrel DO
Lincon Memorial BeBusk

Please feel free to leave any adivce!! I know my MCAT is dragging my application down but any input would be helpful thank you!!

Welcome to the forums.

I assume you will apply next summer. Do not waste your time for 2025-2026 (this cycle) with that MCAT. Keep going with your volunteering (homeless shelter, recycling).

What campus activities/leadership do you have?

You are unlikely to receive an acceptance at any DO school with a MCAT of 490. Let us know what your new score is in 2026.

thank you! I actually just signed up to the MCAT for next month (August 1st) I will treat studying as a full time job and aim for a 500 so that I can apply this cycle.
My only campus activity/ leader ship I have was being a member of a cultural club where we hosted biweekly networking events among students on campus and other schools as well
