Other:
The major focuses of my application, through PS and activities, is working with low SES communities and spanish speaking populations now and when I practice. Made it clear that these are not the only patients I want to work with, just would to work with these populations as much as I can. All of my activities are in urban areas.

Your in-state options are in play. Specifically I hope you have already connected with admissions professionals or students at
UIC
Loyola
Rush
Chicago Med/RFUMS
SIU Med (especially if you are not from Chicagoland)
Your metrics may be lower than desired, but you might as well try for Northwestern and UChicago.
Don't overlook the DO schools for CCOM and IllinoisCOM.

I would consider the HBCU programs
Howard
Meharry
Morehouse
Charles Drew

Have you connected with LMSA chapter officers at the schools you want to attend?

I suggest these schools with your stats:
UIC
SIU
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Rush
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Creighton
TCU
Roseman
Belmont
NOVA MD
Miami
Wake Forest
George Washington
Georgetown
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Hackensack
Einstein (free tuition)
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Tufts
Boston University
Brown
Dartmouth

I recently connected with an LMSA M1 mentor with similar stats as me from a Wisconsin school. I've volunteered for a while with many LMSA members from Rush and UIC and they're willing to help me out, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what would be the best way to leverage those connections beyond editing my writing. What would you suggest?

Also forgot to mention i'm wrapping up gap year 1 and 90% of my clinical and research is with the South Side (mostly african american populations) so definitely plan to apply to HBCUs
