Hello! This is pretty much my finalized list for medical schools I am going to apply to. I know it is a lot and will require a lot of work with secondaries but I am prepared for that. I was wondering if any of these schools should be removed from this list because I am not a good fit or have a low chance of acceptance.
- cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS: 3.92/3.88
- MCAT score(s) and breakdown. Include all (non-voided) attempts: 516
- State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): Virginia
- Ethnicity and/or race: South Asian
- Undergraduate institution or category: Top Public Undergraduate College (College of William & Mary)
- Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 900 paid clinical hours, 650 volunteer hours
- I am including my volunteer experience with Remote Area Medical here because they set up free clinics for the underserved around the US and I figured volunteering there would fall under clinical volunteering
- Research experience and productivity: >1000 hours, 1 publication, 1 internship. The hours are across 3 labs, one being a cancer research internship in Cincinnati during the summer of 2025, one hard science lab at my college studying amino acids, and another global health institute lab that I published with
- Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 173 across primary care, pediatric GI surg, peds onc, gen surg, cardiac surgery, plastics
- Non-clinical volunteering: 100 hours with a local food bank
- Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): TA for two classes during college, 1-2 hours per day working out at the gym (not sure if this is worth including), 5000 hours singing since starting pre-high school until now, Remote Area Medical volunteer internship (500 hours included in clinical volunteer hours),
- Relevant honors or awards: Graduated summa cum laude
- Anything else not listed you think might be important: My clinical job I held I worked for 3 years and was required to work only nights or weekends which partially took away from my ability to do other extracurriculars at college as I would often work weekends. Most recently, I did not have class on Tuesdays or Thursdays so I would work Monday and Wedensday nights.
