MI Resident, ORM, Non-Trad - Rural hometown, underserved area. FAP recipient. Ties to NC, FL, TX, AR - 2nd cycle but mostly applied TMDSAS and a couple AMCAS (7 schools total) and was verified in late Oct
I did not do well in undergrad the first time ~10 years ago (dropped out after 2 years due to family and personal issues, justified and easy to explain on app). I spent several years working in the corporate sphere. I made the decision to change a few years ago. I have a strong story/theme throughout my app.
cGPA: 3.21 (some grades 10+ years old), sGPA: 3.51 - strong upward trend from Community College/Recent Undergrad/Post-Bacc.
Post-bacc GPA (42 credits): 3.86, MCAT: 508
LORs: Committee letter from Post-Bacc + 2 additional letters
Non-clinical professional employment:
Shadowing (minimal): < 20 hours between 2-3 specialties
Non-clinical volunteering: 200 hours
Leadership: ~30 hours led a student discussion group discussing topics related to medicine
