Because you applied this cycle, you will be a reapplicant for next cycle........
What are all your section scores for the DAT? Hard to tell if you need to retake without those, but the discrepancy between your AA and your GPAs is not great.

what schools did you apply to this cycle?

why so few schools?
if you would've had a broader list this year, you wouldn't need to be worrying about next cycle...
These were the ones I could pull off given everything that’s going on in my personal life right now. I wish I could’ve applied broader, but things happened and I’m not able to move across the country this upcoming year. The next cycle I will be able to.
Are there any schools specifically you would recommend?
Thank you

ok, that's valid
from the WAMC template:
School list:
Please include a list of schools you are interested in applying to! It is much easier for users to help you when you have taken the time to construct your own school list first!

that said, you have a very strong app other than your dat
have you shadowed/volunteered/attended events/interacted with students/admissions people/faculty/staff at OHSU and UW d schools?

I shadowed and received a recommendation letter from an Orthodontist from UW. I have a recommendation letter from a Researcher at OHSU, whom I conducted research with.

as far as schools interested in…
Any west coast/ Arizona/ Midwest/ a select group of east coast schools.
But am really open to any school

i would concentrate on maximizing contact with ohsu and uw
and on practicing interviews
it's is still really early in the cycle to be thinking abut next cycle

Thank you for the feedback, what exactly do you mean by maximizing contact?

Thank you for all the responses. Just out of curiosity what would be the ideal amount of schools to apply to? 10-15 of the right ones?
Thanks again

truthfully, the ideal amount of schools to apply to next year is zero
concentrate on preparing yourself for interviews this year...

how has this cycle gone thus far? you still have some time.

If nothing moves by December, I'd try to retake the DAT.

You will then likely be competitive for UW, which is best case scenario for in state

I haven’t heard anything from any school yet. My hope is that it’s still early?

I have been maintaining contact with faculty at both OHSU and UW

Is my DAT that low? I had wished I scored a little better, but was very limited in studying time

It’s not bad but it could be better. The next few months will determine that. you have a really good GPA though
Thank you for the responses. Is it still considered early in the cycle? I have only heard back from 1 school, I know I applied in august, so maybe schools haven’t gotten around to my application yet?
