Hi all, I have received 5 rejections (Cornell, UPenn, Tufts, VMCVM, CSU) and one waitlist (OVC) this cycle and considering the reality that I will likely have to reapply. Curious if anyone has advice on what schools might be better suited to my stats (my GPA has improved slightly since last fall), or if there is anything I could do to improve my application between now and September.

I think the vet experiences you have are good, but I also think that you need a little more variety. It seems almost all of your hours are in small animal GP, which is great, but vet med is more than that. Maybe consider some emergency work? Or being an assistant in a large animal hospital. Did you directly work with the cattle during your dairy research? If you did that you can split up the time doing research and the other time in the animal or vet experience category. Your stats aren't terrible, but I do think they are a bit low for the schools that you applied to, especially Cornell, UPenn, Tufts, VMCVM which are very gpa oriented. And VMCVM doesn't take a lot of OOS people to my knowledge. I think next cycle you might consider applying to Ohio State, Iowa State, and maybe LIU or LMU and any other schools that are a bit more holistic. You could also apply to some out of country schools like Ross and SGU. I think with your science gpa and last 45, I wouldn't reapply to Cornell or VMCVM. You could also apply to Western.
