Hi guys!

I'm currently waitlisted for University of Missouri at #1.

I'm trying to see my chances if I have to reapply for this year.

Academic:

Cumulative GPA: 3.6
Last 45 GPA: 3.5

Veterinary Experience Hours:

~1900 Companion Animal
~160 Large Animal
~70 Equine
~100 Exotic/Other animal

Animal Experience Hours:

~ 200 Companion Animal
~280 Large Animal
~40 Equine
~377 Exotic/Other animal

LORS:

Four from veterinarians (one SA vet, two mixed animal vets, and one large animal vet)

Two from professors

Have you gotten more experience hours this year compared to what you had in the previous cycle? Has your GPA changed from last cycle? Did you contact Missouri to ask for an application review just in case you aren't pulled from the waitlist?

Yes, these stats are what my app would look like for the next cycle. Except more large animal and equine hours. I did a file review and have done what they told me to. I have also been to multiple new clinics, volunteered at an alpaca ranch, made masks for my community, and shadowed at several new clinics since last cycle.

My last cycle stats:

Companion animal veterinary: 1200 hours
Large animal veterinary: ~50
Equine veterinary: ~40
Exotic: 90

Cum GPA: 3.57
Last 45: 3.09

Personally, I don't know specially about Missouri's selection process but it is definitely good that you've been able to improve your application especially with advice from the school's file review. Sorry I can't help more!

Also don't know anything specifically about Missouri, but at #1 on the IS wait list you were really close to getting in this year!! You've addressed the recommendations from the file review and increased your vet hours in different areas. The increase in your last 45 gpa should be helpful as well. Make sure your application/essays reflect what you've done this past year to improve. Best of luck!
