Thank you in advance!! Second time applicant 24yo female graduated from UCSD with neuroscience degree with provost honors at ucsd and high honors at CC. Also honor roll in high school

SA experience ~4000 hours
LA/wildlife ~40 hours
Avian (no vet involved) ~30 hours
Volunteer hours 150

Tbh I thought I had more volunteer hours but I was struggling for a long time with what I wanted to do so I feel like I might be lacking with volunteer time

Non vet employment hours ~4800

I have other random experiences and hobbies but you get the gist

Cumulative GPA ~3.7 Last 45 and science are both either 3.5 or above (I can’t remember from last cycle)

LORS are from two vets I’ve worked with for 1.5 years and my microbio professor

Heyy fellow UCSD alum, also a second time applicant here lol. Pretty solid GPA so I don’t think that’ll be a dealbreaker anywhere, unless they focus more on the last 45. As for your SA experience, I’m wondering if you have any variety in there like ER or something? It doesn’t seem like you have anything to eye-catching on your application, so essays will definitely matter here, unless you have more that you didn’t add here. Your hours are also solid so clearly you know what you want, but maybe you could get more hours elsewhere through volunteering while you still can? Kind of hard to do that since app season is ending, so I’d say focus on those essays and make sure you have lots of peer reviews! I think you’ll get into a couple schools tbh, since you’re in that average GPA and above average hours
