So I'm finishing my first year of Dental school at a very expensive private school on the East coast. Due to cost, all the issues people are bringing up with going 400k in debt in today's economy, and personal family issue that need me to be closer to home, I want to transfer to my state school. They do accept transfers, with consideration to those first with compelling reasons to transfer as well as there being seats available.
My first question is: what is a good reason people have mentioned for being compelling enough to transfer, in addition to grades? Additionally, I have been very shy about talking to any administration about this at my school because I'm afraid that they can kick me out or something. So, there is no way they can kick me out if I ask them about transferring, correct?
Appreciate all your help.
