Did anyone not write the optional part (unique experiences, obstacles etc) for Wash U secondary? I think I have covered everything on AMCAS pretty well, but your responses will make me feel more comfortable...

I wrote it, but I've led a very interesting life with many obstacles in the way of my education.

I would write something. Don't bypass the opportunity to tell them something about yourself. If you covered all of your obstacles in your PS, pick one and expand upon it and how if affected you. You're incredibly fortunate if you have faced zero obstacles in your life...maybe there is something small that you are overlooking...it's not what happened, it's how you handled it and how you write about it that matters. (i.e. something seemingly benign like moving, could have been tough for you, and if you can connect this to your character and how you will succeed in medicine this would be better than leaving it blank.)

:luck:

i didn't write it...it sounded like a disability/hardship/obstacle essay and not so much tell us more about yourself.

I didn't write it either. I would have had to write some major bull**** if I did, since I have grown up with a very nice easy life, no major obstacles...I thought it would be really obvious that whatever I wrote wouldn't be sincere or it would be really lame compared to people who have really had obstacles.

ditto on the obstacles part. i've had a pretty easy life...no HUGE obstacles or anything.

but, i wrote something on "unique experiences".
