Hi. I just got an invite for interview at Wash U today. I am trying to decide if it is worth it. Does anyone have a feel for how many people they have accepted so far? I guess basically I am wondering if this interview will just be for the waitlist in the hopes of being accepted that way (which i suppose is better than no chance). Thanks.

MOST of their final decisions are not made until April. Most people who have been accepted so far have been offered scholarship applications. It's worth going, imo.

from an earlier thread:

while i know absolutely nothing at all for certain, i don't think their class is filled. i think they accepted ~50 people in november and ~50 in december. for the most part, those are the ones who get to apply for their merit scholarships. i'm not sure if they've accepted the same ~50 in mid-january, but even if they did, that makes ~150 acceptances for a class of 120. i would think they would need to make at least 100 more acceptances to fill their class. also, i have heard that they accept a big group before the end of the year and then pretty much everyone else won't hear until late-march/april

(again, remember that i am not positive of any of this)

There are still some spots left in the entering class. I called the admissions office to talk about this very issue, and that was the response I got from an admissions person. I have an interview there next Monday. Aaaah, my last med school interview. This is going to be a lot fun. I've already been accepted to my 1st choice, and I've yet to see what a "top-five" med school looks like. Should be interesting to see if WashU is all that it's cracked up to be (the #3 ranking and all).
