According to the MSAR, WashU has a median uGPA of 3.91?? I know this is different than mean but still thats a ridiculously high uGPA to have 50% of the people above 3.91

Yes. Remarkable.Like I keep saying, the WashU admins are nothing but numbers ******. They take all the robots with 45 MCATs and 4.0 GPAs who cant hold a 5 minute conversation.
They are determined to get to that #1 spot in the US News rankings, and they are riding on the back of the GPA/MCAT pony!
What their MCAT average this year, BTW? 39?
i interviewed with a gpa well below "average"
yeah, how about their MCAT average of 37 😱😱😱. That's more insane to me than a 3.91. Boo numbers' ***** 👎 🙁According to the MSAR, WashU has a median uGPA of 3.91?? I know this is different than mean but still thats a ridiculously high uGPA to have 50% of the people above 3.91![]()
Should one not even bother applying to WashU with lets say 3.5 GPA and 38+ MCAT, or even with 3.9 and 30 MCAT? They need both uGPA and MCAT high?

It's more likely that they will interview you with a 3.5 and 38+ MCAT, but I would not bother with a high gpa/low mcat.
The above poster is right, WashU pretty much only cares about numbers.
I think you need to have at least a 37, they can be a little forgiving when it comes to the GPA, which means it can't be lower than 3.8Should one not even bother applying to WashU with lets say 3.5 GPA and 38+ MCAT, or even with 3.9 and 30 MCAT? They need both uGPA and MCAT high?

Well, Wash U has proved that it really is the "Harvard of the Midwest." But I am not sure that Harvard has proved that it is the "Washington University of the East," since Harvard's numbers are so much lower. Wait, Harvard does not care. It is the entire human being that matters. I get it.
A friend of mine interviewed there with a 34 this year.

36/ 3.9+ here...
interviewed in Nov...dead silent since. hmmmmmm maybe my stats still aren't good enough for the almighty WashU
wow that is crazy.
Well if I end up going to SLU i will definitely walk through their campus with a white coat and try to blend in among these creatures. Maybe put a hidden camera on my tie or something.
[english accent] here we have Giles William esquire III, he has scored a 40 on his mcat and a 4.0 undergrad gpa... notice how he when he walks he cannot see where he is going due to his nose being so far up in the air. [/english accent]
GPA is good. MCAT, unfortunately, is, well, embarassing. Sorry.
I don't think they're entirely number ****** and the perception a high MCAT/GPA is an automatic ticket to WashU is false. Enough with the bashing that everyone is a robot at WashU - they're were all friendly and sociable when I was interviewing there.
What was your MCAT score again?
Ditto....and I haven't heard back for several months post-interview. I wish washu only cared about numbers 😀

I was offered basically the very last day of interviews and I had a 3.9+ and a 37. Brootal! I declined it partially because it was so late in the game. Median of 3.9 and 37 is rediculous.
everyone i know who goes there (or has been accepted there) spend all day studying and are not very fun... (mostly asian nerds)
im assuming that alot of these people accepted are getting acceptances from other top schools as well, in GENERALLY more desirable places. so how does washington u pull kids away from stanford, ucsf or harvard and such?? do they give out more scholarships and other sources of financial aid?????
they do have great financial aid packages, and as for getting in to a california school, well you better be in california to begin with... and yes, I don't believe in capitalizing california, nor good grammar.
Haha, oh and Harvard also realizes it has the #1 spot locked down until the end of time because, well, it IS Hahr-varddd.
