Hey all,
Just wanted to say 'ello to everyone on the boards since I'm new to this sort of thing.. 🙂 I'm a senior at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale working towards a major in life sciences and a minor in psych. I'm planning to apply to med school in Summer '03 and take the MCAT this August or next April. I like long walks on the beach, oops, wrong forum :wink: I'm glad to be part of such a forum and am looking forward to sharing my experiences/knowledge about the med school process with you guys for the months ahead!

Well, for my year off, I plan to work (I'm an EMT), travel, become fluent in spanish (maybe you can help Doctora 🙂 ), and just hang out and treasure the life I have before med school. Oh, and I also plan to be on the run with my interviews...

••••I used to commute from Boynton Beach to Davie for two years of college so its not that bad. I actually didn't find it too much of an obstacle (I think it was the only time that I had to myself where I wasn't doing anything but driving) although I was probably the only one crazy enough in my school that would travel that far! This summer, I'm going to be working full-time so I don't know if I will have time... But, next semester I will be able to though! BTW, did you buy any spanish-learning programs? If so, which was the best? I saw this one program for healthcare professionals, but I haven't heard how good it was...

Nope, I've been taking it in school since 7th grade so it finally started to sink in. But check out the link in my signature for a good start to medical Spanish. I plan to print everything out and memorize it before med school. It's one thing learning medical terms on the job, but now I finally know how everything's spelled. 🙂

I can sell you my old Spanish text book if you want....it's called "sabias que" and it's listed under used books at amazon.com <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />
