Waterloo Acceptances without interviews

I was just wondering how many Waterloo applicants are accepted without an interview every year, or if there's anyone on here that got in without an interview. So far, I know of one person who got in without an interview... is this common???

Also, if you did get in without an interview, what were your stats like? Are those who just get accepted without an interview holding up a 4.0GPA or is it something else?

UW changed the early admission without interview process this year...

If you look at application, this year it said "if you don't get asked for interview..you wil NOT get accepted".

I had an interview and my acceptance email still said I got early admission....

I do remember the application saying something like that but it obviously wasn't enforced since I KNOW a girl in my school who got in without an interview. Which is why I posted this forum to see how many other people this happened to.

Perhaps she is in another year and not entering this year? There could have been circumstances like she was teaching in Korea per se? Someone had a phone interview because of this reason ( read it somewhere on the forum).

nope, first year applying and there was no reason why she didn't get an interview. She was actually upset at first when she never heard back. So I'm still stumped.

That's odd, she must have been an exception because I know the interview process changed from last year. Last year they only interviewed 1/3 of applicants and said NOT to worry if you don't get asked for an interview...but this year this said you MUST have an interview.

I knew a few other people that got early admission and they all went for an interview...

it did not say you MUST have an interview. It said "If you do not receive an interview, it is unlikely that your application will go for full review by the Admissions Committee."
