Can someone tell me what's so special about those Watson generic Vicodin, Soma etc? I got addicts asking for them all the time. They usually claims they're allergic to other brands (bs).

You know I think it is a random thing. In Colorado everyone wanted Mallinckrodt hydrocodone. When we switched over to Watson they threw a fit. Now I am in Texas and I hear the same thing only opposite. We just did a contract switch from Watson to Mallicrout on the hydrocodone and everyone threw a fit and wants Watson.
I have straight up told people its all in thier head because they are used to a certain product.
What drives me nuts are the addicts who get drs to sign off on their so-called "allergy," so they can get the brand they want covered by ODSP (the government-administered drug plan where I live) at no extra charge.
Two of my patients at the methadone clinic claim an allergy to generic methylphenidate, and their doctors have signed the allergy form for them so they can have Ritalin for free. When they end up in the jail where I also work, I give them generic methylphenidate, telling them it's all I've got, and there's no problem.
It's the brand that local street druggists recognize.
