Howdy, i'm a MS-III (for another month anyway) and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on weaknesses in my application i should address and supposing i don't match, any post match ways to strengthen my application (i.e. pre-lim in some year vs. doing research/observership) (i'm an US-IMG so we gotta do it better for any spot so really any advice would be great).
Well my step 1 (224/93) step 2 (240/99) straight A's in clinicals so far except for a B+ in ob/gyn, student body president, 2 years field experience as an EMT, 3 EM rotations (2 audition and not yet done, one at a non-residency dept where they loved me and gave me a great SLOR) my 4th letter of rec is from my family medicine rotation. And i have some research but it's not EM related (one is a case presentation at conferences and the other is a journal review that's being currently written)
Please shoot holes in my stats and let me know if there's any areas that need to be seriously worked on. And i fully intend on applying to almost every program.
