You know, I was reflecting tonight. I've been involved in a lot of online forums. But this one takes the cake for pure humor. I recently shared the classic "Things I learn from my patients" with a co-worker and she spent 7 hours of her shift reading them in between putting in labs. But this DIY Motivational posters, now that's one to share.

Someday I'll probably quit coming here, but not as long as it stays this funny.

You racist!!!! 😡

No, no.....I'm the bigot on here apparently (because of my views on the African AIDS pandemic and Jehovah's witnesses) at least according to the 15+ PM's I've received on the topic. :meanie:

I think we should mix it up with a serious debate about AA. Who's with me?
I'm with you.....but only if you back me up on the "Picking Up Chicks at Planned Parenthood" thread!

Nah. Lets get a real knock down drag out MD vs DO thing going.😀

I got tired of trying to chose, so I went to a MDO school. 👍

It is a bit obvious Dropkick. I bet your ancestor's were never persecuted.

/joking
No, most of my family were the ones doing the persecuting.

Although I do have a little Irish in me, and they were sort of persecuted by the British.

  I would love to hear some pick up lines.
"You know, I'm going to be a doctor soon. I'll be able to take care of that in no time."
At least you know they put out......

EM totally has the best threads. It is the one forum I read religoiusly and I have read the Things I learned from the beginning and try and keep up on the additions. I also think the haiku's are awesome. Talk about some smart, sensitive, thoughtful souls ... 🙂

No, seriously, it's that beautiful combination of irony and sensitivity that makes up the heart of EMedicine. I have graduated from pre-allo to allo, to step 1 to clinical years. But the EM forum has been the constant. I'm thinking I should maybe do EM, but I dunno ...

Here is another classic thread...

"Im not trying to flame but... You EM Docs (aka triage nurses) dont know anything thread"

God the people on OB are incessantly talking about how terrible the EM docs are with pregnant ladies..

I tried to explain to them its not that we cant deal with them.. its that we dont like women who are emotionally labile..

Part of the reason EM people, and this EM board, are so great is that few groups know so well how to handle the inevitable criticism. We know the answer, and we stand by it. We live it, day in and day out.

That answer, of course, is "Fatty McFattypants."

hmmmm. about the "being able to handle criticism" part....uhhh....no, I don't think so.

a lil birdie told me some verrrry verrrrrry interesting things......

yikes! :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

PS: are you good at math? do you like breadsticks?

I just looked at the family med rural medicine forum and they have THREE threads, one of which is called: "We need more threads." How can I do rural med with a forum like that ... ?! 😛

Don't forget, some of the contributors to the EM forum are also in family medicine... 😉
