Katzung's board review (not the big Katzung's) seems popular on SDN, but FA gives it only a "B"! (won't use it)
Kaplan pharmacology LN/videos (I don't use videos, I believe videos are a waste of time) were praised by many, while Lippincott's illustrated review, which is given an "A" by FA, is just boring according to some!
FA is definitely not enough for pharmacology. I'm studying virology now, and I just skimmed through HIV therapy in FA. And maaaan, it's not remotely enough.

So I'm thinking of this combo: EITHER Kaplan OR Lippincott's + Lange flash cards. I'd read a chapter in Kaplan or Lippincott for the big picture, then go back to the corresponding drug(s) in Lange flash cards for the specifics.

What do you think, Kaplan LN or Lippincott's illustrated review?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd strongly recommend the 2006 Kaplan Pharmacology videos with Dr. Raymon. I watched them at 2-2.5x speed, which made them more time-efficient. He is excellent at teaching concepts, something that the lecture notes do not accomplish.

If you're adamant about not using videos, then I wouldn't recommend Kaplan (the videos teach concepts, the book just has information). All of the relevant pharmacology for Step 1 is covered in First Aid and UWorld.
