Grrrrr! Does Loyola think that I have nothing better to do with my time than answer those essay questions?

And that goes for Tulane, too.

Sorry, just needed to vent here.

Irene, I am so with you on this !

I have done 22 so far and am really running out of steam. I still have a few more secondaries with lots of essays and it's so freakin' hard for me to write them.

I try and be thoughtful and write intelligent, sensitive things but right now I just feel like throwing them out the window, or answering the questions with crayon drawings ...

Ok, I need to vent too ...

Crayon drawings? I like that idea. It would definitely make your application stand out.

Yeah, I'd definitely be burnt out if I had to do 22 secondaries. I did half that many and thought they were a pain in the arse.

I'm glad that I'm done.

i'd rather retake the mcats then do any more secondaries 😛

Boy that's pushing it.

This was by far the worst summer I've had. I submitted my AMCAS in June, so I don't really have an excuse for why I'm still writing these things.

Hopefully, applying for a residency (provided I get in somewhere this time around) won't be this bad.

AAK

I'm so sick of secondaries. UC Davis is so ridiculous! Sooo many essays! They probably won't even read them all. I have so many other things to do and this UCD secondary has been haunting me for the last 2 weeks. I better get to it, but maybe tomorrow....😉

I cheered in August when I finished all of my secondary applications. Then I realized I still had two schools I have not heard from. Now that it is almost October, I still have not heard from them! Talk about slow, since my AMCAS was done in early June!

Ah Secondaries are great!!!!!

man dont start me on my 39 secondaries......

but i did em......everyday.......after work till 6am in the morning......sleep a few hours and start the cycle again.

but although they sucked and were draining....it was definitely an experience and i even learned something about myself on a couple of the questions they asked about me.

in the end it was both rewarding and delightful to be finished.....but then once you are done.....you feel like theres nothing to do haha....

waiting sucks but at least i have an interview that i can prepare for to pass the time i have after work.......

i know i have no life haha. be quiet 😉P

but keep up the good work guys....the way i see it.......the more questions they ask......the more opportunity i have to show that i am qualified enough to attend that particular medical school.

its better than just giving them a check haha.

30+ Secondaries. Wow! I applied to less than 15. My last one was Cornell. I guess that's it for me....It's a good rite of passage though. You learn so much about yourself through these reflective essays.

I love how each school words their essay questions ever so slightly different than the other schools so that you end up writing new ones for each and every school. Not much copy pasting being able to do to speed up the process.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh. I did a pretty good job of cutting and pasting. 🙂 I have a whole folder on my computer with tons of different essays for my secondaries. 🙂

You're so good at starting clubs.

I've only done 3 and have 15 more to go. AMCAS just verified, now waiting for the mail to roll in.

Any advice for us who still have a ton to do? Anything that you wish you would have known/thought of at the beginning????

Thanks,
Cmudan

one of the secondaries i have left is u chicago. dude, their essay questions r really diiferent from the questions i've answered already. i'd hate to spend many days trying to come up w/some answer and then being quickly rejected (they seem to be rejecting people left and right...) urgh. life stinks 😱
