Well, we could be dealing with this...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What I find interesting is that both anesthesiologists and pathologists are responsible for the mess they're in. They employed extenders and we cranked out excess physicians.

That, and in a sense are similar because they both depend (for their business) on the whim of surgeons or other procedural-based specialties, or on hospital administrators. And hospital administrators like the bottom line, whereas many procedure-based docs want higher profits above all. CRNAs are thus kind of like in office labs - a way to profit off the same thing while paying out less to whoever is doing the work.

Kind of interesting. Lot of vitriole on that anesthesia forum! And a lot of machismo, but that's beside the point!

A little off-topic... but is it just me or is that word.... vitriol... EVERYWHERE now. I only heard that word rarely (extremely) until about a month ago. Then these damn teabaggers come out with their ******ed "lyin' african" and what-not slogans, and I kept hearing that word regarding their campaign of angry protests. Now, that word has spilled out into the common lexicon.

It was cute at first, but now its time to retire it before it becomes the next "dude" or "like". Seriously. Watch TV (preferrably news) tonight for 10 minutes. You'll probably hear it 37 times.

Well, since I suspect there are a lot of teabaggers who frequent that forum, the word would probably be appropriate 😉

I hadn't noticed that word too much, then again I have been actively ignoring the bat**** lunatic wing of the republican party. Their new icon is that miss america girl who lost because she opposed gay marriage. Apparently they are ignoring her other discretions. The bat**** lunatic wing of the democratic party is not much better, although they at least make some kind of effort at supporting people with intelligence. But extremists rule politics these days.

there are a few teabaggers on this forum too, if you know what i mean

I wonder if the political "teabaggers" had any clue when they gave themselves that name... what that was implying to the rest of us. Although it's pretty obvious they don't have much of a clue.

They would have been better off calling themselves the douchebaggers.

LMAO...there are PLENTY of left wing lunatics who have been everywhere since the 1960s. These rabid crazies have risen to highest levels of government and reeked havoc!

Just now you are seeing the opposite side of the spectrum begin slowly ripping pages from the Alinsky playbook and somehow people are shocked...OMG they are doing what we did! The HORROR!

Extremists have ruled politics since the days of the Greek Republic. Did you wake up today and realize the sky is blue as well?? Eosin is pink to you right??

I dont know if we need amateur rehash of the NY Times political commentary on the path forums, it makes you all look like idiots.

Yeah, I'm not sure you got my point because I said the extremists on both side were a problem. The left wing loonies have been around much longer (at least as a loud minority). They are also much more prominent, it's just a little easier to ignore them. I don't think anyone is shocked. And like I said, there are extremists on both sides and unfortunately now they are spreading to the republican party. But personally I think the lunacy of the far right has spread beyond that of the far left, if only because it is more concentrated and not so spread out under a thousand splinter issues like the left wingers. And the right wingers do a much better job at perpetuating lunatic conspiracy theories and getting people on board.
