Went down on Step 2 CK

Hey guys, just wanted your advice about something.

I took Step 2 CK in at the end of November. I went down 20 points from my Step 1 score, mostly because I had a death in my family a couple months before I took it that shook us all up pretty bad.

My problem is, I'm a US Senior who has gotten some pretty fantastic interviews, far better than I thought I was going to get. I believe (although I can never know) that I interview well, and I've liked every place that I've been.

Do you think a lower Step 2 score would make a huge difference to program directors and cause them to rank me lower, especially at very competitive programs? I didnt have ERAS set up to automatically send the scores, so should I just withhold them? Finally, I heard some programs require Step 2 CK scores before they can rank you; does anyone know if this is true and for where?

It likely depends on what you went down from, step 1 of 250 to step 2 230 prob won't hurt much whereas 235 to 215 will etc. Also likely depends on individual programs. My thoughts are just be honest, they're gonna find out eventually so you can either appear to be hiding something (that in itself may hurt you more than the score) or you can own it, call the programs you like and explain the situation.
