I first want to say what a terrific site this is. When you decide to start down the path of med school, the more information you can obtain, the better.

I hope someone can offer me some insight into West Chester U. postbacc program. Does anyone know anything about the quality of the education at this school? Since it is a state school, will it be frowned upon by ADCOMS?
I am planning on going full-time to complete the program in one full calendar year.

They have an affiliation with Temple School of Medicine. I have heard good and bad things about Temple. I am familiar with the location of the school; I know it is a bad area. I also read on this site that Temple was on probation.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks. 🙂

West Chester is a four-year school, so that's OK as far as adcoms go. No worries there. And it's cheap - also good. Locally, the reputation is that it's a mediocre school - there are lots of "better" options in the Philly area, so West Chester never gets brought up. They have a 3.2 minimum GPA for admittance. With a 3.2, people have so many options that they rarely choose the local state school. That's really all I know. I too would be interested in hearing from someone who's actually in the program.

Temple was on probation, but they are not anymore.

I do have a 3.2 overall, and I also applied to Bryn Mawr and Goucher. Do I have a shot at these schools? What are the GPAs of the people being accepted into their programs?

Those two programs are talked about a lot. Search the forum. Since they're two of the most desirable programs in the country, the GPA average is pretty high. Just knowing your GPA, I'd put your odds at below 50%.
