Hi, for those of you who have been interviewed by Western, would you mind telling us about your experience and the whole process that day. What questions were you asked, how many ppl interviewed you, was it a group interview, and did you have to write an essay in the end?

thanks !!!

hi i just had my interview on feb 25th so this is what i remember happening that day.
i had my interview on a saturday so parking was no problem whatsoever. Just make sure you look at the map so you park in the parking lot closest to the actual building you will be going to
there were many applicants present at the interview and the way my day worked out was that i first had to go through this brief introduction which highlighted some neat facts about western U and some talk about financial aid and etc. After that me and probably like 25 other people were sent to this room where we just had to wait for our interview time. It sort of sucked because i had my interview time at 3 and we were sent to the room to wait at 130. so i had to wait a pretty long time. But it wasn't too bad because there were some pharmacy students present to answer any questions you had. Once they called me in i was sent to this room with 2 faculty and one student ( some people had 3 faculty) the interview was pretty casual, it was kind of like having a conversation. I noticed the student was the only person reading off a piece of paper with specific questions like "why pharmacy" and other typical pharmacy interview questions. They were all really friendly so that wasn't too stressful. After the interview they gave us a mini tour of the school(which didn't take too long) and then FINALLY we got to sit down to write our essay. The essay was just a general question and we had i think 45 minutes to complete it. in general, the whole atmosphere at the interview was very relaxed. *oh and just to let you know some people actually had to write their essay first and then go to the interview, it just depended on what group you were assigned to.
okay hope this helped!

Hey! When I had my interview back in January....I was in the group that had to write the essay first....then went straight to my interview (I got lucky I didnt have to wait long). My friend on the other hand though, waited 30 minutes until it was her turn for the interview. Anyway, I had 2 faculty members and a student, they were very nice however I was nervous....Obviously. But as mentioned before, it was very much like a conversation. SO whatever i practiced didnt even come up! Anyway, best of luck to u!!

Yes, I did
would anyone mind giving out the essay topic?? much appreciated!!

The essay varies for each interview session and each group (group A and B), so I highly doubt that your essay topic will be a repeat. It's totally random and has nothing to do with pharmacy. Mine was something on achievements/failures and its impact on you. It really wasn't so bad. And you can also use pencil. 😉 Good luck!
