Haven't seen anyone post that they got into Western as an alternate since adOggy07. Does anyone know if there's any movement going on? I was hoping they'd be like Iowa with a quick moving list, but haven't heard anything.
So, any news?? 😕

Actually a couple of years ago they did not even touch the alternate list so I doubt it would go as fast as Iowa's is going this year.😳

You shoud call. The admissions staff are very friendly to applicants. I am sure they will tell you what is going on.

Hey JerseyLynn.... Don't get discouraged yet! I was in the process of looking for a third roomate which I have found. In the process a girl e-mailed me and said she is frantically looking for a place because she had just gotten accepted. This was within the last week and a half, so it must be moving just very slow.

Read on the c/o 2012 facebook page that the class is only up to 98. So, it looks like they should still be working with the waitlist, since we're supposed to have 100+. The info came from a current student.

Good Luck Jersey 🙂

Max is 100 (the classes larger than 100 over accepted)

Unless they have decided to enlarge the class number.

Classes over a 100+ is probably some people who got held back their first year or had some family situation that made them take a year off. We had 2 people in our class from class of 2010.

Thanks for all the feedback.
It's kind of hard to gear up for the next cycle, but I think I may have to start thinking that way. At least I know now that there are a few spots, and things may change over the summer for some of those accepted, so a few of us SDNers may get a shot.
You never know.....😳

Hi guys,
Ok so I was put on the alternate list at western and a friend of mine who was admitted told me that I might be able to check and see if I got in by going to mail.westernu.edu and typing the first letter of my first name followed by my last name as my user name, and use the last two numbers of my birth year followed by the last four numbers of my social security number. I have not been able to access the website until last week, so does this mean that i'm in??!?! I haven't received my letter yet (the mail service here is a bit iffy at times) but should I excpect to recieve it soon? my friend who was admitted said that she had emails about a week before she received her letter.
I sure hope this means that I got in-but I don't want to get my hopes up.
Does anyone have any input?? I would greatly appreciate it😍

Hey There! How exciting for you! Well, if I were you, I'd email and see . No harm done in that. Also, no sense in getting excited if its just a precautionary measure. I'm telling you this because I was waitlisted last year at another school and they set up my account, just in case. I found it accidentally and I thought for sure I was in, then I emailed and they let me know that it was precautionary, just to have it ready if a student is not able to attend. So, I'd check...It does sound good though! 🙂 P.S: If you really want me to do some research.. PM me, I can check for you if you give me your name to see if you are on the registration "list" via BanWeb. So exciting! :luck:

So, any good news to share yet?? :luck:

Hey there. I haven't heard back from Drb2b, so I'm not sure if there were any changes. I sent the list to him/her via PM. Are you on the waitlist as well? It can be so exciting, but also so crazy with the waiting...and waiting.....🙂

Yup, another one on the waitlist. I too can now get into the webmail like Drb2b, so I'm figuring we're the active alternates, if someone drops out, they'll have us ready, like you said.
Do you know how many are in the class of 2012?

Hey BG,
According to the email they sent for registration instructions, there were 99 students on the list. I know that they normally only take 100 with the exception of someone having a medical issue or from another class. So, as of now, I see 99 people listed. I'm crossing my fingers for you! :luck:I know it can be so crazy waiting. Have you emailed to ask? You really should. You never know! 🙂

Called before I could have access to the webmail. The funny part is today they sent info about tuition being due and my name was on that list, so when I counted down, I saw there were over 200 names, and I realized it must have been the full list of accepted - admitted and alternate.
So close, but you never know.
Maybe I'll call again...or maybe I should just send in the tuition and see what happens!!:hardy:
Thanks for the info you posted on number accepted!

I could log in since a month ago, but I never had any e-mails in my account so I assumed in was a precautionary thing too.
I am on the waitlist too, but I didn't get the tuition e-mail. I wonder if they have taken me off because they are so sick of me e-mailing. They've stopped replying to my e-mails!

🙂 Funny! I looked at the email you talked about and cross referenced it to the registration email and it appears that the names include another group(waitlist perhaps?), so I'm wondering if since the email came from the registrar/financial aid that it has more than one class, for instance it has the pharm 2012 etc. I'm not sure. I can't quite figure out the methodology, but I'm hoping you all get off the waitlist. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to post!:luck:

It is kind of funny though, I got the tuition e-mail, but not the registration e-mail. I would have signed up for classes if I did!
I notice I've been getting e-mails for about 2 weeks, which is probably what all the other alternates are getting. Did the registration e-mail come the same day as the tuition e-mail?
Just wondering, thanks for answering.

Hey BG! The registration email came on June 23rd. My financial aid email(I think the one you are talking about) came on the 30th, but I don't have all the names on it,like yours....Oh, the confusion! ha,ha..🙂

Wondering if anyone who has been able to access the web page has heard anything yet? Seems like most vet schools have their classes pretty much set. I've e-mailed Western in the past, so thought I'd try here again to see if anyone has gotten their letter after being able to log on. Wish there was a master list we could check, then move on. Wishing and hoping is tough at time.
😕😕😕
