What am I allow to do when shadowing dentists?

I shadowed my dentist for almost a year now. I started by just watching her doing her stuff. Later on, she let me sterilize tools for her and also doing suction. My question is, should I say what I did in the application? I think it's a cool experience, but am I allowed to do these things when I never been trained and certified by schools?

It's somewhat state-dependent, but I would doubt any state prohibits unlicensed individuals from suctioning and sterilizing. If unlicensed x-raying is allowed in some states, why would unlicensed suctioning or sterilizing not be? You would probably be best off asking your dentist. If she says it's fine even if it's not, it's not your fault.
