So I have been studying for the DAT on and off since September. Now I am fully committed to studying for it. I had finished content review using Kaplan and had been doing practice questions from DAT destroyer for past 2 months. I took a few diagnostic tests and my Orgo and bio scores are 21 and 20. But my gen chem and math sections are very low, like a 15- 16. I have spent so much time doing math practice questions and reviewing what I got wrong. I don’t understand why this is happening and was wondering if anyone else was at this point and can recommend a better studying habit or source? I just bought DAT boot camp today and will be going through it along with my dat destroyer but this is very discouraging

Practice doing the questions without timing first. I found giving myself enough time to think through the problems and then gruadually speeding up helped me out more than just reviewing the ones I got wrong.

Also see if there is a pattern or specific types of problems you’re getting wrong and then practice those until the cows come home. Destroyer has a bunch of specific YouTube videos on GC and QR

Thank you. I’m gonna finish the destroyer without timing my self first then go thru it again with timing and see how it goes. Thanks again

Use practice test as a method to get exposure to how questions will be worded on the DAT, and as a way to get your timing down (once you know the material like someone mentioned above) My first test I got a 14 on BIO and 16-18 on the rest of the TS sections. I think the best I scored was 19-20 on the TS sections. On the real DAT I got 24 GC, 22 OC, and 20BIO. Dont sweat it, keep studying hard and do not panic

The Destroyer was never meant to be used for timing. The timing phenomenon has been hyped a lot in the past few years, all the time in the world will not help you if you don't have a strong foundation. Take your time with the Destroyer, focus on your weaknesses and make them your strengths, hard work pays off. Keep up the good work, and my best advice is, do not take the DAT until you are fully prepared. You don't want to face the DAT Beast more than once!

As AppalachianDentalBoy mentioned in his response we have a lot of free videos on youtube.

This gave me real motivation thanks a lot
