I reapplied this year after not getting in last year. I only got two interviews last year and was waitlisted after one of them. I recently graduated in May from college.

GPA is 3.85 MCAT was a 33 (V10 PS 11 BS12). I did a few internships with doctors during my years at school including one for credit for a semester with a cardiothoracic surgeon. I was also a tutor at the school.

I am currently working as an anesthesia technician in a hospital near me.

I have gotten two interviews so far this year but thats it. I have been rejected without even getting an interview from about 4 schools so far.
What are these schools looking for to give out an interview?

Something is missing here...did you apply early and broadly?...do you have volunteer activities?...can you gauge how good your LORs may have been (did the writer act enthusiastic about doing it for you?)...did you let someone else read your essays, take any constructive criticism?...what is your basic reply for "why medicine?"...

i applied to about 17 schools this year. tufts, umass, bu, albany, rochester, umdnj, dartmouth, loyola, wake forest, georgetown, GW, temple, northwestern, tulane and a couple more.

As far as i can tell, LORs were fine. I never had any problems with the people I asked and the professors were all enthusiastic about doing them. I was even given a copy of one letter written by a doctor whom I interned with and it was a wonderful nice letter.

Main volunteer stuff was habitat for humanity and tutoring.

got all secondaries out by middle/end of august

2/17 (~10%) interviews is that bad this early in the season? how long have you been complete?

I have been complete at most schools since beginning to middle of september.

Good stats. If you don't get in, that's not the reason.
How about your science GPA?
I assume it must be pretty high as well.

It is still early in the season. Hang in there.
Do your best to prepare for your interviews and have specific reasons why you want to attend those particular schools.

Just hang in there. I was rejected from ~25 schools over 3 years. It only takes one so don't sweat the numbers. But make the interviews you get count.
