Hi,

I have a 3.69 GPA right now, and on my OAT I had a 350 AA and 350 TS (with a 400 on Bio, and good everywhere else although my gen. chem was low - 300 or 290 I think).

I applied to SCCO, NECO, SUNY, Penn, and Missouri. What do you think my chances are at each? I have interviews at SCCO and NECO but have not heard anything yet from the others. I just want to know where I stand.

Thank you!

Your chances are very good for getting interviews as long as your pre-req GPA is around that range too and if you have a lot of extra currics! Remember that admissions isn't just looking at your grades and GPA though. Interviewing is also very important since they are looking for people who haver interpersonal skills and can clearly communicate to patients.

I agree- you have good stats but the interview is crucial. One of our professors was telling us yesterday that he interviewed this guy and it was TERRIBLE.. all he did was sit there and give one word answers for all the questions. They definitely want to make sure you're personable!

Unless they changed something... once you have an interview at SCCO your marks don't matter anymore.

Definitely still true for SCCO. Everyone who has been invited for the interview is on an even playing field as far as GPA and OAT scores are concerned. From your interview invitation forward, they're only concerned with your experiences/LORs and personal affect. In other words, make sure you're well prepared for the interview.

Aside from us not really knowing all that much about your file, the only major concern I'd note is that it is getting to be later in the application cycle.

Why not some more state schools? You picked quite a few areas with high living expenses.
