36 year old female, applying to Tennessee (my In State). I have 4 schools on my application transcripts with a total of 185 credit hours. Only 3 schools are accepted as transfer credits to UT and those schools total 132 credit hours (83 at UT undergrad, 22 community college and 47 well over a decade ago at a 2 year school)
Last 45: 3.97
VCMAS Overall: 3.16
VCMAS Science: 3.11
Institutional: 3.65
Small Animal Clinical: 2000+ (worked as a technician in an ER for almost 3 years and have worked in various general practices during my time out of school)
Large Animal Clinical: 500+
Research: 600, as assistant and researcher, received UG researcher grant Spring 2021
Animal: Several hundred
Extracurricular: chess club, pre-vet club, peer mentor, tutor, ag honor society, UG TA
Certifications: Fear Free, CPR, Chimp Behavior and Conservation
Deans list 3x, graduating with bachelors in December 2021
My main concern is the difference in my institutional and application GPAs. I didn't do well my last semester in college over a decade ago and struggled when I returned as an adult, with kids, until I found my footing as a student and have not looked back since then.
I am (and only ever have) applied to UT. I have interviewed 2x and my last year's interview score was 92.7 out of 100.
How much will the differences in GPAs impact my total impression on the committee?
