My cumulative GPA is 3.50 and my Science GPA is 3.46. I am going to be taking DAT this august and I am California resident, if that helps any.

I transferred from Georgia Tech after two years. My GPA then was 3.32, but my GPA at my new school is 3.81.

I have also done volunteer works abroad in Nepal, Korea and St. Lucia, as well as shadowing in both school clinic and a university hospital in London, as I am currently studying abroad. I estimate of having approximately 100 hours of shadowing. I am going to be taking sociology classes and a enameling and jewelry class as well.

I have done multiple research during breaks as well as translating volunteer work in hospitals. What would I need for DAT to get into a descent, or any dental schools?

On another note, how are study abroad GPAs incorporated into the AADSAS GPA? My study abroad GPA aren't going to be out until August, but I plan to apply in early June. Does this mean this GPA will not be included? Which is fine, because, it might drop my GPA anyhow.

So... what are my chances and what should I do to improve them?

Thank you.

Your GPA is pretty average. Aim for a 20AA or above and apply broadly to 10 to 15 schools. Make sure to have schools like NYU, Tufts, USC, MWU-AZ and IL on the list as well. The volunteer and research work might add to your file, but it won't make or break you.

Here's the info on the study abroad classes:
