I am an American/Canadian dual citizen with cGPA=3.88 and sGPA=3.88. Have 3 MCAT scores

first time= 31) 11P/9V/11B
second time= 30) 12P/8V/10B
third time= 513) 129P/126C/130B/128pscyh

From what I am seeing it is looked down upon to rewrite if you can't improve your scores significantly in the states. However, for Canadian medical schools they only look at recent scores and that is why I wrote multiple times to try and improve my score.

ECs include:
-Surgical Department Co-op student (high school) - 300 hours
-Hospital Health Records volunteer - 88 hours
-Emergency Department volunteer - 250 hours
-Orthopaedic Department visit volunteer - 45hours
-part time high school tutor
-Dragon Boat athlete for 4 years at my university (also coached 2 years as off-season trainer/coach)
-Attended a national event in Canada for Dragon Boat 2 years in a row (silver and bronze medal in different categories)
-Summer Research Assistant (full time) at a Chemistry lab for 1 summer
-0 hours of shadowing, it's very hard to find shadowing in Canada because of confidentiality with patients and. However, I will keep trying.

My School List:
-Vermont College of Medicine
-Medical College of Wisconsin
-Albany school of medicine
-Creighton Med
-Drexel Med
-Eastern Virginia School of Med
-George Washington School of Med
-Georgetown university
-New York Medical College
-Oakland
-Penn state
-Saint louis
-Sidney Kimmel
-Meharry School of med
-Albert Einstein
-Loyola
-Tulane

Should I add DO schools as well? It'll be impossible to find a DO let alone shadow one in Canada so I'm out of luck for getting a DO LOR 🙁

I can tell by your list that you have not yet purchased the MSAR.
EVMS doesn't even accept applications from internationals.
Find the 64 schools that accept internationals.
Eliminate the ones that matriculated less than 3.
Bring back the list where your stats are at or above the median and we will be glad to help (look for schools with a median at 30 or so).

I was under the impression that my american citizenship will allow me to apply as a US citizen without a state of residency. Am I mistaken?

Sorry. If you have no state of residence look for schools that accept a significant number of OOS with a median about 30.

I thought I had a solid list, do I have too many "reach" schools?

Many of them just don't seem like you are their target audience: Meharry for example...
The "Georges" get 13 to >14 thousand applications, pretty low yield.
The Jesuits are looking for a significant amount of non-clinical volunteerism...
50 hours of shadowing (esp primary care) would also help, even if you have to make special accommodation to do so. How will you convince people that you know what you are getting into?

There are 4 or 5 good choices on your list. That isn't usually enough for applicants in your situation.

@Goro I did some "preliminary research" on MSAR and here is what I came up with:

Loma Linda
Indiana University
West Virginia
University of Washington
Oakland university
Rosalind Franklin
Oakland William Beaumont
George Washington
Virginia Commonwealth
New York Medical College
Medical College of Wisconsin
Creighton
Quinnipiac
Penn state
EVMS
USF Health Morsani
Saint Louis
Georgetown
Allbany
Sidney Kimmel
Vermont
Warren Alpert Medican school
Wayne State
Drexel
Tulane
Tufts
University of Miami
Wake Forest

Taking into account that you don't have a state school, here's what I'd go with (assuming you won't get penalized for retaking a perfectly fine MCAT of 31, AND won't penalize you for being a 3x taker that didn't improve at all):

Pay VERY careful attention to the Acceptance Information pages of MSAR.

Loma Linda (read their list of don'ts)
West Virginia
Western MI
Oakland university
Rosalind Franklin
Oakland William Beaumont
Virginia Commonwealth
New York Medical College
Medical College of Wisconsin
Creighton
Quinnipiac
EVMS
Saint Louis
Georgetown
Albany
Sidney Kimmel
Vermont
Wayne State
Drexel
Tulane
Tufts
University of Miami
Temple
Wake Forest
Any DO school (beggars can't be choosy)

Have you considered establishing a state of residence in the US? It would improve your chances considerably.

Thank you for your insight! I will definitely keep this in mind for my school list
