I am accepting the fact that I have a low cGPA and a low sGPA, and I know that I have really messed my academic career up. I am definitely regretting it. I had family problems--problems with my alcoholic father, my household not having enough food, etc. I went through a lot, but in the end...it IS my responsibility. I know that getting into an allopathic school is a far reach at the moment, but I do not want to give up. At the end of next June (Spring 2017), my stats will be hovering around these GPA numbers. I have decided that I will put all of my "eggs in one basket" and go for a two-semester long SMP.
1.) I just wanted to get some advice on which schools (SMP) I should be looking into as far as my stats, when the application usually takes place, and when I should apply, etc. I was thinking of Temple, Georgetown, and Eastern Virginia, and University of Cincinnati.
2.) I would also appreciate it if you could give me advice on how to improve my application at this point, albeit my low cGPA and sGPA. Will the SMP help me? Will I ever be able to make it to an allopathic school? Will the MCAT make a big difference if I score well? THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
