I am a current junior planning to apply this upcoming cycle. I have a 3.48 gpa currently that I plan to have up by September but only a 3.4 science GPA.
Vet experience:
Small animal clinic #1 - 500 hrs
Small animal clinic #2 - 350+ (still employed)
Plan to job shadow with equine vet this summer
Wildlife research - 200
Animal Related Experience:
Animal Shelter Volunteer - 500 hours
Equine Specialist @ Therapy Barn - 400 hours
Other equine related work/activities - 2,300 hours
Dairy herd (paid and class) - 400+ Hours
Sheep herd (lambing included) - 50 hours
Pig experience (birthing included) - 50 hours
Other experience:
Academic director of my sorority
Involved in Maine Animal Club, Icelandic Sheep Club, Standardbred Drill Team, a women’s fitness group, and a sorority
Manager at a retail store
I have several schools in mind that I would like to apply to to give the best odds possible, but I’m extremely worried my low gpa will prevent me from any interviews. Any critique is greatly appreciated!
