I am currently applying for a one year MA Biology program and after that I plan on going on to DO school. I am wondering what are my chances

-Currently my GPA is 3.38 (hopefully will be higher after my last undergrad semester).
-Volunteered with an on campus ambulance service for a few hundred hours (checked vitals, assisted crew chief with patient transport, etc.)
-Worked as a patient transporter at local hospital during high school for 3 years
-Plan on taking MCAT early summer (what would I need?)
-Will hopefully have a MA in Biology after next year

What are my chances? Am I competitive? Please be as brutally honest as possible and if you need more information, ask.

Thanks everyone!

Your GPA should be fine. For your MCAT, aim for above a 26 to be competitive.
Your medically related ECs are solid. Very nice. 🙂

Do you have any other non-medical ECs? Such as leadership, community service, or teaching experience? Many people get in without these on their application, but it certainly does help!

I have a GPA around 3.35 and your medical ECs are considerably better (just shadowed a few docs and have a bunch of volunteer hours at a hospital ICU) MCAT is a 32. So you for sure have a shot as long as you do well on the MCAT and know how to sell yourself in your personal statement.

I will be brutally honest: you should have posted this in the What Are My Chances subforum.

It's impossible to give your odds without an MCAT score. Your GPA is alright though.

You are competitive, but ask again when you have your MCAT score.
