Hello .

what do you think the factors that may affect your residency application strongly
?

can you list them at this manner :

1- interview ( 50%)
2- GPA (20% )
3- USMLE score (30%)

thank you .

1. Which speciality you are applying to.
2. Whether you attended medical school in the United States or not.
3. Your USMLE Step I score
4. Your medical school grades/ranking, AOA etc.
5. Interview

Can anyone let me see a blank copy of the residency application? Any link or pdf file of how to fill out residency application can be pretty helpful. My guess is that the application is probably online and there is no hard copy. I just want to see what kind of things are being asked. Once I figure things out what's on the residency application, it becomes easier for me to plan things.

I just finished 1M and am still far far away from it, and yes, I can see people rolling their eyes on me either in front of me or behind my back. But, looking at med school application and figuring out what I would be asked in it tremendously helped me prep for applying to med schools.

PS. In the ranked list in the previous posts, where would the "LORs" be ranked? before interview or after interview?

I'd suggest getting Iserson's "Guide to Residency." The 7th Edition was just recently released, and it's a very good guide about what to do and how to go about doing it. It provides a solid framework, and I know I'll be using it for reference as I go through medical school.
