Hello, Canadian here, some(few) med schools in Canada do not require ANY science courses at all, they will accept students with any degree of any discipline (however very competitive).

Anyways, what are the required prerequisite courses in order to gain admittance to US Med schools? I believe one year of general biology is needed(does that mean one term/semester or taking biology for a full year in all terms/semesters)? What else?

Can any type of Biology course in University fulfill the Biology requirement? What about Physical Sciences? Chemistry? Also, is English required? Can Social Sciences and Humanities fulfill the English requirement?

I'm pretty sure it all really depends on the schools you want to go to. In general I do know that you do need the full year of biology with a lab, but I'm not sure if different classes count or not. They would probably have to be upper level ones but that usually means you need the general ones to take them anyways! Some schools require biochem too though. And generally you need a full year of general chemistry with lab, a full year of organic chemistry with lab and a full year of physics with lab. Schools differ a lot concerning English, but I think you usually need at least three to six credits, sometimes nine. And them some schools require like six credits of math too! Really you should just look up the schools you want to apply to...or buy one of those books that has all of the schools and their prerequisites from barnes and nobles for like 20 bucks.

And fyi here is a link to the school where I am going....I think these are the general ones schools like to see so it should give you a good idea.

Just out of curiosity, why does your medical school have an image of a giant and seemingly insurmountable cliff on its admissions website? Is it a metaphor for the admissions process? =p

1 year of orgo chemistry with lab

few schools require calculus, and most schools require 1 or 2 semesters of English.

This is for most, not all schools.

Hahaha I never thought of that! I always thought it had something to do with the Rocky Mountains, beings as it IS Colorado and all. However your explanation makes a lot more sense, I like that!
