I searched but could not find a link telling what the top ten or even twenty schools were. Could someone please help. Thanks.

Top ten Research schools of 2004, according to U.S. news and world report. Take these rankings with a grain of salt - they are simply the opinions of journalists that pretend to have a scientific formula. Don't read too much into them.

Sorry the link didn't come up the first time I clicked. I'll take another cookie.

DONT TAKE THESE NUMBERS TOO SERIOUSLY. They are put together by journalists, not doctors. Don't let them stress you out.

(Unless stress hurts your performance and makes you less competitive. Then please, get stressed out! 😉 )

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

remember to use these as guidelines--prestige is one thing, but all of the top 20 schools are diverse, and seeing what you really want before applying may help.

Just an FYI.. the AAMC thinks that the US News report is a crock of crap 🙂

see link....

http://www.academicmedicine.org/cgi/content/abstract/76/10/985

This is the article that you get when you click on the link in "how do medical schools compare" from the AAMC site.

Hey do you have the subscription to see the full text of that article? Is there anyway you can make it available to SDNers...copy paste or something? thanks
