This was the on-going topic of my animal science career seminar class this semester. We all needed to have at least three back up plans for if we did not get into vet school! Personally, I want to try at least a few times before I give up getting into vet school (I have not starts apps yet, still pre-vet). But the most common responses in my class were
A) Further your education to strengthen your resume
B) Find a job that would strengthen your vet school application
C) Study/ Work abroad until you figure out what you want to do
D) Look for a job in the government, NIH, or research with the degree that you have
Personally I would do A, C, then B respectively if I needed to buy myself some time to strengthen my application. My biggest problem is not having any money for vet school so I would like to do grad school or work, so that I could save some money before doing my applications etc!
