What can recent MD(w/o residency) do?

I'm going to be graduating in May. I want to hold of on residency for at least one year. Does anyone have any ideas what a recent MD graduate can do with one year off? Besides research!!!

I have a friend who worked at a biotech firm as the medical director for a couple years. He just went back & started his FP residency this year, though.

You can be a pharm rep. They make good money. They will pay you more with your MD too.

There are a host of options. Everything from medical consulting to medical liaison to working in finance. For just one year though it will limit your options, but find a head hunter and they can present a panoply of different fields.
