What causes bone destruction in Gout?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Gout crystals don't really cause pressure on tissues; they pierce tissues instead. Sure fluids may accumulate, but it's still not enough pressure to actually cause bone damage. However, when you have innate immune cells coming in, they basically wreck **** and don't give a **** about it either. That's what causes the tissue damage.

While trying to find a source for you OP, I came across a new term. A "teetotaler" is someone who never drinks alcohol.

But yeah, neutrophils cause Martel's sign (rat bite sign).
