I wonder what adcoms know in terms of other schools which you have interviewed at or been accepted at. Do they take this type of information into account?

🙄 🙄

Unless you tell them or they talk with other schools, they do not know at which schools you have applied, been granted interviews, or have been accepted.

Because of the AMCAS computer problems this year, some schools were asking for printed copies of the AMCAS application be sent to them instead of waiting for electronic versions. The printed copies had the list of schools on it. Some people just didn't send that page. I did but I doubt it had any impact on my application.

Come May 15th, they'll know who's in where. Whether or not they take it into account when making decisions, who knows?

the adcom that i am on doesn't care where you are going to interview or have been accepted. the only time that this issue of competition has directly come up is in trying to recruit underrepresented minorites. this is because there is a limited pool of underrepresented minorities that are really competitive that have schools courting them to come there.

please do not take this the wrong way!!! i am not saying that minorities are less qualified, only that there are less applying recently. this means that to stay "diverse" schools have to woo some of the pool.

Cool dude -- thanks for answering my question!
