What do dentists do for TMJ?

The past few weeks my jaw has been popping when I eat and it hurts. The other day I woke up and my jaw was really sore and I couldn't close it all the way without causing pain. I can also feel it pop in and out when I open wide and close. It doesn't hurt as bad now but I'm still planning on scheduling a dentist appt.

What is he most likely going to tell me? I don't want to waste my time nor the dentists if he's going to say come back when it's worse or something. What do dentists typically do for patients on a first visit that have TMJ?

Lots of things. That is why you should go to a dentist to figure out what you should do. You can't tell you unless we could see what is going on. So, go see a dentist. They will fix ya right up.
