I am a junior thinking about medical school. I know my gpa is low, sGPA 3.08 cGPA 3.169, but I am going to focus on getting it up. I have 3 C's currently in evolutionary biology(C), physics 1(C+), and physiology 1(C+). I improved in the higher up level of biology and got a B+, and am really going to focus on improving on physics 2 and physiology 2. Is it worth it to retake physics 1 and physiology 1?I can potentially get my gpa to 3.26 after this semester. If done, what would I need on the MCAT? I have 500 hours as pharmacy tech, 50 hours volunteering in hospital with patients, 2 medical trips adding up to 40 hours in a clinic, and just started a job as a medical scribe. Also, I am aware I need to get shadowing and potentially research. Any advice will help!!

What’s the goal?

MD is the goal, but of course with my GPA, DO would be more reachable. Is it worth it to retake those C+ classes if I know I can improve? Just to raise my gpa. I think if I retook them I could bring my gpa to 3.3.

No.

A single year of even all A's isn't going to suffice...you're probably looking ta needing a post-bac or SMP.
But for MCAT, for MD: 513+
For your state MD school: 510+
For DO: 505+

Your medical trips will be viewed as medical tourism.

I assume those MCAT scores are for an increased GPA after I did a post-bac or SMP? Not my current GPA?

Without improving your GPA, you are going to need something in the range of 520 or higher. Back in the day, white applicants with GPA of 3.0-3.19 who had an MCAT of 36 or higher were "average" to "above average" in getting admitted to at least one medical school. That, btw, means a likelihood of admission of 40-56%. So, even wiht a top 5% performance on the MCAT, you would have a less than 50-50 chance of getting an offer of admission.

tl;dr Focus on improving your GPA then focus on crushing the MCAT.
