“Doctors and other medical staff can also be barred from working at VA hospitals based on their marital status, political party affiliation or union activity, documents reviewed by the Guardian show.”

Good luck with that, lol… it’s not like there’s a correlation between higher educational attainment and identifying with a certain political persuasion. 🧐

I wonder if they'll start requiring patients to write an essay about how their beliefs align with Trump's administrative actions and goals. And if they don't align closely enough, "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."

It’s already happening.

They say we can opt not see patients who are Democrats. How about patients that are Republicans?

If someone applies to work at a VA hospital and is barred based on these factors, the lawsuits they're going to file are going to be something else. If I was one of those being discriminated against, I'd list Trump, the Trump Administration, AND the VA as parties being sued.

You would not be able to sue Trump as an individual in this case.

There is a clear, consistent correlation between education level and political affiliation in the U.S. Higher educational attainment significantly predicts Democratic affiliation and liberal ideology, while lower levels of education—especially among whites—align more with Republican affiliation and conservative ideology. This educational divide has sharpened considerably in recent decades and remains a defining feature of American political identity.

While this is true, I am not sure it matters. If you take away the stability and the loan forgiveness, what does the VA offer that any other job does not? It is no longer a long-term career option that it used to be. So, all this political identity stuff is a joke as it can just be flipped in a few years if it even ever takes place.
