I'm sure a lot of you know about the plan to create these "health pavilions" which contain doctors, radiology, dentists...etc all in the parking lot of each retail store location (soon to be fulfillment centers). Then they would like to create there own PBM, in the hopes of cutting out Med part D because of the crummy adherence reimbursement situation. Their goal is to "Save patients money to live better!". By combining and cutting costs.

This seems like a serious and VERY expensive transition. So where do the current pharmacists working under the current model of Wm retail pharmacy fit in? Will they really just switch us over to a building in the parking lot? because i get the feeling they are systematically weeding out the over paid "older pharms" who are getting 60 to 70/hr. Do i have a future here or should i just bail? Because im okay financially and can take some time away. even forever.....

This is a part of that town center concept that they are developing in certain locations.

There is no future... continue saving and staying under the radar. What other option is there. In the short term they will go after old staff rph first before rxm.

Well, I am replying as a hopeless bougie type (after today I wonder why I hang in this biz at all)..BUT (as usual)..I would hack the biz as long as you can stand it. It strikes me as a plan that will take at least a couple of years to get on line. However, If you are REALLY set..give 'em the "hook 'em horns" and scoot...life is too short to flog pills...

I like the idea of WM buying hospitals and re-branding them with the WM name. "UNBEATABLE LIVER TRANSPLANTS"
