I sent in all of the required contents to Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in early September and today I received a letter saying that finally my application is complete. Why so late? Why did it take 3.5 months for them to make sure that all of my stuff is there? First, I thought that they got it early and it just took them a while to get the letter to me, but then I looked down on the letter and it wishes me a happy holiday and new year. Are they just procrastinating?

Has anyone experienced this? I have also had this with a couple of other schools?

you might be just unlucky...since applicants are up at all the schools across the nation they might have just taken a look at your app to see if everything was ready.

id prolly call to ask if they have reviewed your file or if they just checked to see if your app was complete. 4 months is extreme just to get confirmation that your status is complete...

hopefully this isnt the case at all the other schools you applied to. good luck man.

if it makes you feel any better i havent heard post secondary from at least half of the schools i applied to and i turned in everything in september as well. (around 20)

Same thing happened to me today too. Drexel sent me a postcard saying that my application was complete. I called and was told I was complete...back in September. I think Drexel has some serious problems.

oldtimer,

I had the same experience with Drexel. I submitted all of the contents to them in late August and sent them an email asking whether my application was complete. Couple of days later they sent me an email telling me that my application was complete. This was in the beginning of September. Two weeks ago, I received a postcard from Drexel telling me that my application was finally complete. What the hell is this? Are these people paying attention to our applications? Sometimes I start to think that the people that are handling our applications, the thing that we have spent years perfecting, really don't care or have no idea how important all this is for us applicants.

Well, thanks for the responces and good luck to all of you.

dmitrinyr,

I just received the same letter and I've been complete since mid-October. Oh well, at least it wasn't a rejection.

In my situation, I really have no chance to get into most of these schools because I bombed the mcat again. It is just that I want to know that the people at these addmission committees are taking me seriously and not just leave it be. That is why it sucks not hearing anything from anyone one of these schools. It makes it seem like they forgot about me and my application.

It's not just Drexel and Meharry. The exact same thing happened to me with Hopkins. I got an email from them in August (the week after I submitted my secondary) saying my application was incomplete and they needed my LORs. I checked back a week later and everything was cool. THEN, in mid-December, I got an email from them telling me my application was finally complete and the adcom would start looking at it. WTF?!? 😕

Meharry doesn't epitomize organization.

Don't worry about that. I received a post card from duke inviting me to setup an interview after I had set up the interview and completed it several weeks ago. Im pretty sure it was a computer glitch.
