I'm applying to Social Psy. programs.
GRE - 1430, 720 V, 710 Q
Psy GRE - 760 (top 5%)
UG GPA - 3.40, Psychology major gpa: 3.80
I spent 1 year (2 semesters) in a psychology masters program, gpa: 3.90

have about 4 semesters worth of research experience, was a TA as an UG, no publications, no posters, but I will be co-authoring a paper in the next couple months for the research i am doing now (schools im applying to are aware of this)
im guessing 2 strong letters, 1 moderate to strong

personal statement, meh, i think i repressed all my memories of writing those, glad that's over.

hows it looking for me 😳

also, do Social Psy PhD programs typically have interviews or no? Only one I am applying to explicitly mentioned a required interview..

I do not claim to be an expert on these things, but why on earth would you apply to programs and submit a "moderate" letter of Rec? Everyone submits recs that are always AMAZING, it's kind of a given. Of course, there are always a few that are really, really great, but is the rec you are referencing "luke warm"?

I think you have a good chance. Your GREs are good. Kind concerning you are doing an MA but don't have publications yet.

I'd say you're looking great!👍

I don't know what to tell you regarding the interviews, I know very little about the process myself.

What schools are you applying to? What is your research interest?

well, i meant moderate only relative to the other 2.. perhaps i should say 2 very great letters and 1 great letter.

i'd rather not say exactly where, but my interests match well with all of them.. generally, my interest in implicit/unconscious processes

I think you should have a pretty good idea of what your chances are.

Mark

PS - Congrats on the solid GRE score, you got the same score as my wife. She should have studied for it, she would have done better.

Dear SigmundFreudMD or Mark's wife, care to retake my GRE for me?
