Well I finished my semester with all A's but a B- in Physics I that brought my semester GPA to 3.65. My cumGPA is now 3.31, and BCP 3.13.

I have 3 more semester's to go and striving for more A's. What do you people think for med school? NYCOM, UMDNJ, PCOM?

MCAT will be taken this August.

My personal experience with applying to medical school is that you change your mind frequently when deciding which school would be a good fit for you. When I was in your position last year, I was just doing a lot of surfing on the net checking out schools everywhere. Start thinking about where you want to live, which schools offer the best financial aid, what kind of clinical training do you want (do you want to live in a large city or a more rural area?), different types of curricula that suit your learning style, grading systems (I think I'm really going to enjoy the luxury of P/F next year), where their graduates tend to match, etc. There's so much to take into consideration, and all the while you have to remember that this process is a random crapshoot-- some schools you think you don't have prayer at will accept you while other just plain ignore you. Also, if your mcats go well, and if you're funds are limited, try to narrow it down to a dozen schools to submit primaries to, applying to a broad range of schools. I'm going to stop now because I just realized I'm typing out a lot of information that you probably already know and didn't ask for. Shutting up.

silas,
Thanks for the response and I do appreciate. I like to see what people have to say and why they say it. I'm hoping to bring up my cumGPA to 3.5. It used to be 3.1 and its on the way up. I'm trying my hardest and hopefully it will payoff for me as it has for many.

I am going to begin my studying now for the August MCAT, and right before the MCAT I will take Princeton Review or Examkrackers, something like that to prepare. Well, I'll see how it goes and hopefully will go in my favor.

Hey good job on grades 👍 I have the same stats as you GPA wise but got my B in Org. I

Sounds like you're doing good. but if you're applying next application cycle, take the april MCAT!! you put yourself at a disadvantage if you wait. if you're waiting a year, then nevermind!

GPA is decent, but not great. So again, it will depend primarily on your MCAT score.

I'm waiting a year to boost my GPA as high as I can. Thanks for the insight though. 👍

How would a cumGPA of 3.52 and a BCP 3.31 be for DO school with a 27 mcat?
