What kind of devices have you all used to videotape a interview/therapy session? I have to complete a "mock" one with a friend as part of a course. Have any of you used a computer or iPad/iPhone etc? I'm having trouble trying to get the placement correct. To be more specific everything I have with a camera has to be quite far away to capture two people sitting and conversing at a good angle and sitting a good distance apart from one another. Consequently this also means that the audio doesn't pick up very well and I feel like I have to yell. Anyone have any suggestions or low cost alternatives?

Does your department have a camcorder? Many seem to have one that you can check out. And if not your department, then perhaps the media section at the university's library?

I would definitely try one of these options first. But if not you could get a decent flip cam with a tripod. It would be one of the cheaper ways out with a decent quality.
